Fantastic Friday - Why Fear Death?

Why are so many of us brought up to fear death? Why does it always seem to be portrayed as a ‘bad thing’? Isn’t it a necessary part of life? Without death, our world would get pretty crowded very quickly. If there was no ‘end’ for us, would humans still strive to invent amazing things? Make the world a better place? Would they bother to have any kind of goal?

This short piece of animation, 'The Life of Death', showcases perfectly, I think, how entwined life and death are. It’s by Marsha Onderstijn, an animator from the Netherlands. I love its beautiful simplicity.
