Favourites on Friday - Some of my favourite things
Last week was half-term, which meant our usual routine was non-existent, which meant Friday came and went & I completely forgot to blog -- Oopsy!
Today, I thought I'd share some of my favourite things ...
First, shelves:
Craft shelves
Book shelves ... 2 of many ;o)
Peacock feathers ...
One of the rooms in the house where I grew up, in Malaysia, was used as my father's study. It was big enough that part of it was curtained off to form the prayer area. My mum and 2nd sister used to travel to India a lot, and would return with lovely religious images and statues. My favourite deity has always been Krishna, and I remember this statue always being part of the prayer area. I have no idea how old it is, but was so, so happy when my mum said I could have it.
My modest collection of Breyer horses
Notebooks ...
only a select few ...
When my oldest sister came to the UK in the 1960s to train as an interior designer, I was still a young 'un. We used to love being shown all the fab, 'cool' stuff she'd bring home each time. She had a set of black, wooden horses - purely for decorative purposes - but I remember spending many hours playing with them. Sadly, in all her umpteen house moves (her hubby's job involved being transferred around Malaysia), they got lost. Only one was left, with its rear leg broken off. When she decided it was time to ditch it, I happened to be visiting, so got to rescue it.
